When I met Ruth for our initial consultation at Jesmond Dene House, I immediately knew we were a good fit for each other! We got on well from the start and she loved my work. We'd also both been through grief so could relate to each other. She was confident in me and my work so just trusted me to 'do my thing'.
Ruth filled in my survey recently and I just love what she wrote -
"I found you by going through photographers' albums on Facebook. They had plenty of examples from real weddings, rather than photoshoots, and had tagged the suppliers in the photos. I wrote a list of the names that came up and what I thought of the flowers. I didn't even have a second choice, so thank you for taking us on as I know it was a difficult time for you and we didn't give you much notice xx"
They married in the beautiful main hall but had lots of beautiful photographs taken by Eye on the Tyne Photography, in the surrounding gardens and Dene.
I'm probably going to sound biased, but as well as myself an...
Just wanted to say a huge welcome to all my new followers on social media and new 'clickers' on my website that have joined me since the new year. I've had so many, I thought I should introduce myself again, for those of you who don't know me.
Well, I'm Vicky and I'm the Owner & Florist at Floral Quarter (and book keeper, delivery driver, cleaner, salesman....) I've been doing this for almost 10 years now so I have a lot of experience in wedding floristry at lots of lovely venues around the region with hundreds of couples like yourself. Because of that, I'm able to guide you through the process from start to finish and make you feel completely at ease. A bit about me personally; I'm from Newcastle, almost 40 (although my very kind friends tell me they don't believe that), I live with my Husband Adam and as a hobby I like to play Flute/Whistle and watch films. Also, my hair colour changes all the time, who knows what it'll be next month! I'm very easy going and down to earth too, which my c...
So, It's been a little while since I blogged! So I thought i'd kickstart the new year with this prettiness at Doxford Barns.
Emily Hannah Photography was behind the lens, capturing all this pretty. I can always rely on her doing a fabulous job of photographing my flowers and our mutual couples.
I like Barns, because they always give you so much scope to decorate them. There's always a bare stone wall to contrast against a beautiful wild flowers arrangement, which will suit any colour scheme, or a fireplace to adorn with a dramatic flower display to make the perfect focal point during your ceremony.
I'd wanted to work at the Fig House for ages, so was over the moon when Laura & Chris booked me for their big day there. I have to say, it didn't disappoint, it's one of my FAVOURITE venues now.
Their striking dark red, purple and black colour scheme, looked absolutely stunning against the fig house backdrop!
I was lucky enough to have HEY CHRIS RANDLE photo & Video, accompany me, as he is making me a fabulous corporate promo video. So he kindly gave me a selection of his still shots! CLICK HERE to check his website out!
The awesome Macaron tower in this blog was made by Le Mini Macaron. Check out their website CLICK HERE !
Following shots by Hey Chris Randle -
Following shots by myself on my phone! (yeah, you can very much tell the difference between mine and the professional photographer!) -
I absolutely LOVE working with tropical leaves so I was over the moon when Lucy got in touch and asked for them for her big day at Charlton Hall. I'm their recommended Florist so CLICK HERE to ask about your own big day there!
Stunning images by Fire and Ice Photography. They really are works of art!
I love a bit of colour now and then, so I was so pleased when Katie & Fergul said they wanted as much colour as possible. We even had some top notch Sunflowers which took pride of place in all the arrangements.
Sarah Jane Ethan was the perfect photographer for them. Click HERE to head to her website!
Marrying at Doxford Barns or just love the look of my flowers on these pics? Then CLICK HERE to ask me about your own big day!
So nobody can predict the British weather, especially when you book your wedding day so far ahead. Even the weather man gets it wrong sometimes. But the new Mr & Mrs Hegarty (and gorgeous son Jenson), certainly never expected the amount of rain that appeared in Otterburn on 10th August!
We're talking sand bags at the door, an overflowing river, firemen preparing to evacuate them, a two hour power cut and tuna sandwiches & wine for their wedding breakfast. But I love the fact that these guys just made the best of it and had an awesome day!
I absolutely adore it when a couple asks me for beautiful dark tones of Claret, Red, Burgundy etc and mixes it with lots of texture and foliages. Some would oy have that sort of thing in the autumn or winter, but me? I say have it all year round if you want to as its a stunning colour combo for a wedding; especially in a barn like Northside Farm.
I decorated the new Gingang room with lanterns along the aisle, a candlelit blossom arch and a luxurious registrar table display which was then moved to the couples Sweetheart table after the ceremony.
They opted for a mixture of centrepiece styles, with candles in vases surrounded by foliage on some and a posy arrangement on others.
